The structured interview is a conversation between the assessors and the validation participant, which is conducted in accordance with the strictly defined scenario. It provides exact and precise recognition of the level of the assumed learning outcomes. Method in particular recommended for adults, who completed the formal education
Characteristics of the method
It is a method in which the validation assessor asks the prepared questions in a previously established order to the validation participant, and then analyzes and evaluates the answers provided. The interview is conducted individually with each validation participant, which is need to be considered while planning the conditions, time and costs of this method

Why is it worth to select the structured interview?
it gives the possibility to adjust the conduct of the process to the need of the person who started the validation
it allows for more accurate and in-depth recognition of the degree of achievement of the assumed learning outcomes than in the case of the test
it enables the assessor to verify the level of understanding of the question on an ongoing basis and, if necessary, to ask a clarifying or deepening question
it find its application in verifying knowledge, skills and social competences on almost every level of the Polish Qualifications Framework (1-7)

Evaluation
For each participant, the assessor prepares the interview evaluation card, documenting the fulfillment of the validation criteria. The protocol is made after conducted validation session. Every document are filled in electronic form with the use of the dedicated application. Because of the documentation necessity, the interview is a subject to register, therefore the validation center is obliged to provide the appropriate equipment, that allow recording.
Correlation with other methods: the structured interview can be combined with other validation methods, such as e.g. theoretical test, observation in simulated conditions, observation in real conditions, analysis of evidences and declarations.

Quality policy
By optimizing the validation process with the use of free interview method, recommendations were formulated that should be met, including in particular:
the assessor should inform the candidate about the conduct of the validation process, gain his acceptance to register the interview process and provide the appropriate organization and material conditions
in order to minimize the feeling of discomfort and stress of the person with whom the interview will be conducted, the assessor should take care to create possibly friendly conditions for its course
the person who will conduct the interview with the candidate should be equipped with the appropriate research tools, helpful in carrying out and documenting it, e.g. interview plan, interview scenario
